I am an audio engineer, based in Melbourne, Australia, with many years of experience mixing, recording and mastering arty punk and off-kilter rock. I have collaborated with many outstanding Australian and international bands throughout my 15+ year career.
The main service I provide is mastering for vinyl where I strive to create the most transparent, high quality masters possible given the source material provided – doing all of this at a very affordable rate for bands. I will provide masters that maintain dynamic content, while achieving a sensible loudness and adjust the equalisation to maintain a truthful replication of your material across a large variety of playback systems.
I also specialise in mastering for a variety of other mediums including online, CD and cassette. I also have extensive experience recording and mixing, recording for other people to mix, and mixing material that others have recorded. Occasionally I have even recorded, mixed, and mastered releases in their entirety. Basically, if the material is interesting, noisy, weird, or a little odd I am interested in working with you.
Throughout my process I utilise plugins including UAD 2 mastering plugins and an acoustically treated space. I use some DynAudio speakers as my main reference monitors and some trash speakers to reference what it may sound like on less than ideal listening conditions (which, let’s face it, is most peoples’ playback systems).
Masters will be worked on until you are happy with them. Usually this is achieved on my first pass, and if not then most often by the second.
Currently I am offering a free mp3 master of a song as a trial, 24 bit files provided at regular rates if you are happy with it and want to have your track in high quality audio.
